Is there a right way!

Galway businesses support a bilingual city:

Galway has in recent years witnessed an increase in the use of bilingual signage in the city. This is largely due to the work of Gaillimh le Gaeilge in partnership with Galway City Council and the business community through the Galway Chamber and other groups, to develop Galway’s unique Irish image and to gain bilingual status for the city….(Click the title read the article from advertiser.ie)

What have I done?!

tomorrow will be the end of my first work week in st. james elementary school and it could not come any sooner. don’t get me wrong, the actual work isn’t tough at all—it’s actually a breeze…, but it is just so hard to get through the day when you’re running on empty. i’m constantly sleep-deprived and feeling under the weather. but really, that’s 70% my fault. i just don’t take good care of myself when i’m not around people i’m comfortable with. does that make any sense? oh and i’m living solely off of potato chips and spoonfuls of peanut butter now. i bought the peanut butter to make pb&j sandwiches for lunches, but the bread i got turned out to be some gross yeast-free/gluten-free alternative so i tossed that shit OUT. i shoulda known better than to try and buy groceries for less than a euro… haha my b. but yeah, the rest of the blame i place wholeheartedly on ireland’s shittastic climate of persistent, intermittent rainfall.

oh, but i’m really not as bitter and sullen as i sound. the students i work with are super super super cute and excited that i’m here. it really warms my heart. i’m complimented every ten minutes on my “lovely voice” and how “awful nice” i am. i’ve never gotten that before. HAHA. forrealz. even when i’m back with the other study abroad kids, i can just tell they think i’m too cool for school (but c’mon now, i am). whatever, i’m an ice queen, i get it. ahhh but i have soooo much i could say about the irish school system and i would love to share all my cute little anecdotes of the kids, but i am tired and i must wake up early tomorrow so that i can try and score some hot water for use in a long-overdue shower before it runs out. oh & i miss the boyfriend very very much. i get to see him in 8 days yay! we’ve been planning out our italy vacation and dsf#*)$@#r so excited.

Now to just enjoy the cute Australian boy who happens to be rooming in the room just beside mine.
